Property Description
Enter through the hallway from where you enter the sitting room with marble fireplace and tiled floor. There is a lovely dining room with enough space to seat 8-10 guests. The fitted kitchen has hob and double electric ovens. Two toilets, a bathroom with bath and washbasin, also an office and utility room on this floor. A back door leads from the kitchen onto the pretty terrace area and then out onto the private garden which is mostly laid to lawn, but also has shrubs, flower beds and a vegetable patch. From the utility room, you are led into a workshop or storage area. An original oak staircase leads up to the first floor, where there are four good sized bedrooms, bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin. A further set of oak stairs lead up into the extremely spacious grenier which has beautiful beams and would convert into a superb studio or additional ensuite bedrooms. There is an additional workshop or storage room and a garage with sufficient space for two cars. The village has benefitted from the Mayenne developments to improve the area as a whole. Electrical cables have been placed underground and the buildings have been restored to a high standard. the village has a boulangerie, post office, grocery store with deli and butcher section, a large community/sports hall where there are numerous events held throughout the year, and a bar/tabac where you can have your morning coffee, read the papers and catch up with the locals. Good schools, football clubs, doctors, chemists, are all closeby. A few kilometres will take you into Renaze where there is a small weekly market and a cinema. CRAON (10 kilometres) a lovely south Mayenne fortified market town with half timbered houses, schools, shops, restaurants, bars, supermarkets and builders merchants. The town has its own Chateau with 105 acres of parkland and gardens. In this area we have hiking trials of 435 miles. Also situated here is a very popular race course. There is a large lake within a ten minute drive where you can practice a variety of water sports, or just enjoy a stroll and a picnic. If you like birdwatching, there is also a bird sanctuary and hide. Two superb 18-hole golf courses half an hour’s drive away. Many local fetes and activities throughout the year. One of the largest weekly street markets in France in the medieval town of La Guerche (15 minutes drive) Within easy reach: Laval - famous for its river and Christmas lights. The city of Rennes, capital of Brittany, with its mix of old and new, offers everything a city can offer, and then some. To the south, Angers is a tourist paradise with a thriving commercial side and beautiful chateau. We are within easy access to Nantes and Le Mans. (famous for the 24 hour race) One and a half hour drive west will take you to the Atlantic coast and the chic La Baule. Same travelling time north and you reach the ferry port and amazing walled city of glistening granite - St Malo. , a captivating and unique historic town with fantastic architecture.
