Property Description
Situated in a pretty hamlet, this longère was built into an incline, creating a 3 storey main house at one end. This has been tastefully restored by the present owners and boasts a large living room complete with Villager stove, a fitted kitchen with an island and the built in hob, extractor and oven will be staying. There is also a downstairs WC and shower room - handy when you come in from the garden. At the top of the chesnut staircase is a landing with 2 double bedrooms leading off it. The master bedroom is enormous, and both benefit from walk-in wardrobes. Also on the first floor is a very spacious and extremely well fitted bathroom with corner bath and separate shower cubicle, very tasteful tiling and good quality white sanitary ware. Adjoining this is a 2 bedroom gite for friends and family to stay in or useful extra income or alternatively, by opening up a simple doorway, this could become part of the main house. The lower floor is open plan with a fitted corner kitchen and upstair, along with two spacious bedrooms, is a shower room. The furthest end of the longere is to renovate internally, the roof over the whole property being in good order. It is big enough for a further gite and was in fact the original house. The main house has oil fired central heating, the boiler to which is housed in the cellar. All windows are double glazed and all work has been carried out to a good standard. Opposite the longere is another stone building the ground floor of which is divided in two, creating a garage (with inspection pit) and a games room. Upstairs, over the whole length, is open plan and would make a great snooker room. All in all, this is a quality house in a lovely part of Brittany. If you're after a family home with land and potential income then this is well worth seeing. The nearby town of Plouguenast has a wide range of shops and services and lies between St Brieuc and Loudeac. A good choice of ferry ports and airports are within easy reach.

The name of the departments translates as "by the sea" in Breton, and the department's principal town is Saint Brieuc, founded by the Welsh monk Brieuc in 482 AD, with its imposing cathedral. Other towns of interest include Dinan, one of Brittany's finest medieval towns and a major tourist attraction and Guingamp, another town of historic and architectural as well as religious interest. There are many beach resorts and fishing ports. The department boasts six "petites cites de caractère" including Jugon les Lacs, an ancient fortress town surrounded by rivers and lakes.
The department is the least populated department in Brittany and so there is a real feeling of space - if you want to escape the rat race and enjoy the peace and quiet of rural France, the Côtes d'Armor is ideal. The coastline is dotted with lighthouses and is characterized by rocky coves and tidal inlets, and inland paths lead to ruined castles, fantastic forests and farm properties built in pink, grey and black stone.
Scattered with beautiful manor houses and chateaux, the department offers some fascinating architecture, with many attractive granite-faced properties. The property for sale is this part of France still represent very good value compared to other regions of the country.
